SUMMARY:Senior Affairs Commission (SAC) – Intergenerational Standing Committee Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Intergenerational Committee is a standing committee of the San Bernardino County Senior Affairs Commission (SAC). Its mission is to support programs and services that connect different generations—especially those involving grandparents raising grandchildren and other kinship caregiving arrangements. \nThe committee works in partnership with the Department of Aging and Adult Services – Public Guardian (DAAS-PG) to promote intergenerational activities\, support kinship centers\, and address related community needs. \nThe committee meets regularly to: \n\nAdvise the SAC\, DAAS-PG\, and community partners on intergenerational issues\nMonitor and share information on new programs and help improve existing services for families across generations\nSupport DAAS-PG in sharing information regarding intergenerational events and activities\nEncourage community involvement in programs and public meetings\nMonitor legislation that may impact kinship caregivers\, older adults\, and the families they support\n\nThrough collaboration and advocacy\, the Intergenerational Committee works to strengthen the connections between generations and improve the quality of life for all involved. \nHow to join the meeting in person\nAll meetings are open to the public. All scheduled items will be heard at the DAAS-PG East Valley Region/Administration office located at 784 E. Hospitality Ln.\, San Bernardino. \nHow to join the meeting by interactive video for Public Comment\nAlternate locations for the public to address the Commission by interactive video for Public Comment are offered as a courtesy and may be closed due to inclement weather\, if technology fails\, or another unforeseen emergency.
