SUMMARY:Senior Affairs Commission (SAC) – Legislative Standing Committee Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Legislative Committee is a standing committee of the San Bernardino County Senior Affairs Commission (SAC). It works closely with the Department of Aging and Adult Services – Public Guardian (DAAS-PG) to track and review new and proposed legislation that may affect older adults and individuals with disabilities. \nThe committee meets regularly to: \n\nAdvise the SAC and DAAS-PG on policy and legislative matters\nReview pending state and federal legislation to assess its potential impact on the older adults and individuals with disabilities\nRecommend actions or positions on legislative issues that support the well-being of older adults and individuals with disabilities\nSupport the development of policies that promote equity\, access\, and quality of life\nForward legislative concerns and recommendations to the County’s legislative affairs team for consideration in the Board of Supervisors’ policy platform\n\nBy staying informed and engaged\, the Legislative Committee helps ensure the voices of older adults and individuals with disabilities are considered in policymaking at all levels of government. \nHow to join the meeting in person\nAll meetings are open to the public. All scheduled items will be heard at the DAAS-PG East Valley Region/Administration office located at 784 E.
