Senior Affairs Commission (SAC) – Nutrition Standing Committee Meeting

The Nutrition Committee is a standing committee of the San Bernardino County Senior Affairs Commission (SAC). The committee is actively involved with the Department of Aging and Adult Services – Public Guardian (DAAS-PG) in overseeing the Older Californian Nutrition Program (OCNP), which includes meal services at community sites and home-delivered meals for older adults.

The committee plays an important role in helping ensure nutrition providers follow all Federal, State, County, and Department guidelines. Members serve as a bridge between the community and DAAS-PG, offering insight, feedback, and support.

The committee meets regularly to:

• Advise DAAS-PG and the SAC on issues related to nutrition services
• Help identify and recommend improvements to existing programs
• Support the development of new initiatives that promote better nutrition for older adults
• Visit meal sites anonymously to observe service delivery and assess quality and compliance using a simplified evaluation tool

By staying involved and informed, the Nutrition Committee helps ensure older adults in San Bernardino County receive high-quality, nutritious meals in a respectful and supportive environment.

How to join the meeting in person

All meetings are open to the public. All scheduled items will be heard at the DAAS-PG East Valley Region/Administration office located at 784 E. Hospitality Ln., San Bernardino.

Alternate locations for the public to address the Commission by interactive video for Public Comment are offered as a courtesy and may be closed due to inclement weather, if technology fails, or another unforeseen emergency. If the sites are closed, a notice will be posted by 9 a.m. the day of the meeting whenever feasible.
