Older adults, individuals with disabilities, their caregivers and/or family members are encouraged to make emergency planning a priority. In California, there are many organizations, services and resources that are available to help people prepare for an emergency.

Adult Protective Services (APS) is available 24/7 to investigate reports involving older adults (60+) and dependent adults (18-59 with physical or mental impairments) who may be at risk due to abuse, neglect, isolation, self-neglect, or potential homelessness. To report suspected abuse or neglect, call the APS hotline at (877) 565-2020, any time, day or night, year-round.

Senior Information and Assistance provides information and referrals to government and non-profit agencies. Please call (800) 510-2020, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
